With great enthusiasm, I welcome you all to The 12th Indonesia EBTKE Conference & Exhibition (IndoEBTKE ConEx) 2026, a strategic forum that continues to strengthen Indonesia’s role in building a clean, inclusive, and sustainable energy future. This year, IndoEBTKE ConEx carries the theme “Turning Ambition into Action: Accelerating Clean Energy Transition in Indonesia and ASEAN”. This theme reflects our collective determination to make Indonesia not only a leader in domestic energy transition but also a major green energy force in the regional landscape.

Indonesia has set ambitious targets to achieve a 23% renewable energy mix by 2030, a just energy transition, and net-zero emissions (NZE) by 2060 or sooner. These targets underscore the national commitment to addressing the challenges of climate change while strengthening energy security. METI is encouraging the acceleration of renewable energy to ensure a just energy transition. The role of renewable energy in equitable electrification across Indonesia needs to be seriously promoted, both through policies and a conducive business ecosystem and investment climate, based on the concept of supply creates demand, to provide certainty for investors.

As Chairman of Masyarakat Energi Terbarukan Indonesia (METI) with more than 1,800 members, I believe this is the right moment to strengthen cross-sectoral synergy. This year's Indo EBTKE Conex theme conveys a message to the world that Indonesia is ready to be an active player in contributing regional and global targets on energi transition and NZE. The collaboration is crucial to driving policy breakthroughs and building bankable project pipelines across the region.

Through The 12th IndoEBTKE ConEx 2026, let us embrace this spirit of transformation to position Indonesia as the green powerhouse of Southeast Asia. Together, let’s realize the vision of a greener, globally competitive Indonesia Emas 2045.

This forum has become a key platform for advancing national efforts to strengthen policies, attract investments, and foster collaboration in the field of new and renewable energy also energy efficiency and conservation (EEC). In the past, MASKEEI held IEECCE (Indonesia Energy Efficiency and Conservation Conference and Exhibition) as an exclusive platform on EEC. But this year, the forum aligns with IndoEBTKE ConEx 2026 on the theme "Turning Ambition into Action: Accelerating Clean Energy Transition in Indonesia and ASEAN," reflecting our commitment to accelerating the clean energy transition to ensure national resilience and competitiveness.

As a cross-sectoral association, Masyarakat Konservasi dan Efisiensi Energi Indonesia (MASKEEI) advocates for leadership pursued through policy synergy and the optimization particularly in EEC on different sectors such as: industry, commercial building, household, and transportation EEC is a fundamental pillar of our strategy toward Net Zero Emissions by 2060. Over these three days of conference and exhibition, we will specifically explore our own thematic clusters, on those four sectors to power a low-carbon economy.

EEC is not merely about savings; it is the first fuel, a core resource that delivers emissions reduction and energy security benefits. Through this event, let us turn these ambitions into measurable results for a sustainable future.

This year marks a defining moment for the clean energy transition. Under the theme “Turning Ambition into Action: Accelerating Clean Energy Transition in Indonesia and ASEAN,” we are shifting our focus from high-level discourse to the gritty, essential work of implementation. With a huge renewable energy potential of 3,686 GW, Indonesia is not just participating in a transition; we are architecting a new era as a regional green powerhouse.

The roadmap is clear, but the timeline is demanding. To honor our Net Zero 2060 pledge and the 1.5 degree pathway, we must execute a radical transformation: tripling clean energy production by 2034 and preparing for the full retirement of fossil fuel plants by 2035. This is not a task for the few; it requires a collective breakthrough in policy, technology, and capital.

For the next three days, this conference and exhibition will serve as the region’s premier "engine room" for change. Across our five thematic clusters—ranging from scaling solar and BESS to pioneering green hydrogen and transition finance—we are here to forge the strategic alliances that turn blueprints iunlocking nto bankable projects.

I challenge every leader and innovator present to move beyond the "what" and focus on the "how." Let us use this platform to secure the firm commitments that will cement Indonesia’s role as the heart of ASEAN’s green economy.
